Ilona Revolskaya was born in Russia, where she made Operatic debut as Brigitta (Iolanta) at the Moscow Conservatory Opera Studio, going on to perform Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Musetta (La bohème). Since 2013 she has been a Guest Soloist at Ekaterinburg’s Theatre of Musical Comedy, where she performed Adele (Die Fledermaus). She debuted in the UK singing Nero (L’Incoronazione di Poppea) at Woodhouse Opera, and performed Sister Ginevieve (Suor Angelica) in Leeds, in collaboration with Opera North soloists. Since 2016 she is a member of Royal Academy Opera, where she has performed the roles of Morgana (Alcina), Diana (Orphèe aux enfers), Zerlina (Don Giovanni), and Controller (Flight), to a great critical acclaim. During that period, she collaborated with conductors such as Christopher Warren-Green
Gareth Hancock, Ian Ledingham, Sir Richard Bonynge, Sir Jeffrey Tate.
Ilona is a winner of awards including Bronze Medal at the Pietro Argento Competition, Finalist and Audience Prize at the Operetta-Land Competition, Leeds Conservatory Prize, The Josephine Baker Trust Scholarship, The Khodorkovsky Foundation Scholarship, and the Eldee Scholarship. She is currently under the tutelage of Professor Susan McCulloch and Jonathan Papp, having also taken lessons from Barbara Frittoli, Ermonela Jaho, Massimo Giordano, Ildiko Raimondi, Rudolf Piernay, Yuri Grigoriev; she is an alumna of Mozarteum Academy and Solti Accademia di Bel Canto.
Since Summer 2018, Ilona has joined Theater an der Wien in Vienna, Austria, as a young principal artist; her engagements for season 2018/2019 included roles such as Olympia (Les contes d'Hoffmann), Conegonde (Candide) and other.
